Resharing this little nugget from the start of our main floor renovation — a rendering that captured the vision before a single wall was opened up. From the very beginning, I had a clear sense of what I wanted this space to feel like: calm, cohesive, functional, and layered with intention. I was in the beautiful city of Montreal last week, 7 years from when I first visited, and the Notre‑Dame Basilica stopped breath just as it did the first time I saw it. From the majestic neo‑Gothic exterior to the ornately redecorated interior by Victor Bourgeau in the late 19th century, this building tells a unified design story — inside and out . I was also able to witness the AURA light show, and I saw how the architecture and lighting blended seamlessly to amplify its grandeur  (goosebumps!). This reminded me of an important design lesson that applies to your home too. Your exterior and interior don’t have to match. A sleek modern façade can transition into a warm, layered interior, or a classic stone exterior can reveal a bold, contemporary palette inside. But when you create a thoughtful dialogue between the two, the result feels intentional, cohesive, and elevated.
